Sick Leave Procedures
Every employee in your company must receive a certain amount of sick leave over and above the amount of normal leave days that are due to them. Sick leave is determined by any illness that might prevent an employee from showing up for work and fulfilling his or her tasks. Sick days that are taken on a Monday, Friday or for a period of longer than two days should be accompanied by a medical certificate from a qualified doctor stating the reason for absence from work. An employee not supplying a medical certificate will have the days they were off work deducted from their normal leave days that are due to them.

Most companies institute a use it or loose it policy regarding the leave that is due to an employee. Not employing this policy will mean that an employee can accumulate leave days that he or she can use to take and extended holiday from work leaving you without an employee to fulfil their functions. Overtime Employee Compensation
