National Credit Act South Africa No. 34 of 2005
The National Credit Act South Africa came into being in March 2006 with the aim of protecting consumers in credit transactions. The National Credit Act South Africa also regulates all types of credit dealings in South Africa including:
• Mortgage bonds
• Overdrafts
• Store accounts
• Vehicle financing
• Personal loans
• Micro-loans
• Pawn brokering
As such any type of credit related transaction is regulated under the National Credit Act South Africa. The Act makes provision for debt review as a means to protection against creditors while being able to pay off debt should an individual become over in-debt and thus not being able to pay accounts in the due manner. The National Credit Act South Africa, in addition, regulates credit bureaus as well as credit information of consumers. With such the Credit Bureaux keeps credit information and the consumer is entitled to access of the information.

Credit Bureau South Africa Vs Credit Bureaux
There is a difference between the credit bureaux as regulated and by the National Credit Act of 2005 and the Inoxico Credit Bureau South Africa. Credit Bureaux is a term to describe all the credit bureaus in the country which are approved by law and are registered with the National Credit Regulator to collect credit related information from consumers and to keep such in a database. Credit Bureaux is also a section of the National Credit Regulator governing credit bureaus. The National Credit Act provides regulations regarding the type of information that may be collected and the rights of the consumers regarding access to information. The Inoxico Credit Bureau South Africa is an online credit information service established to streamline the information retrieval process for companies regarding consumer and vendor credit, fraud, and the monitoring of bank codes as well as background information on companies in addition to services such as consumer tracing.
